The Governor is de jure head of the state, however de facto government authority lies with the Chief Minister. Which means the Chief Minister is the actual government of the Authorities. The Chief Minister of a Union Territory is appointed by the President of India and is sworn in by the LG of the UT. 

On 1 July 1963, the Pondicherry Consultant Meeting was transformed into the Legislative Meeting of Pondicherry as per Part 54(3) of The Union Territories Act, 1963. The members of the Pondicherry Consultant Meeting (elected within the 12 months 1959) have been thought of because the members of the Legislative Meeting of Pondicherry. The first elections for the Puducherry Vidhan Sabha have been held within the 12 months 1964.

In Puducherry Meeting Elections 2021, All India N. R. Congress has received 10 out of 30 seats. The bulk mark in Puducherry is 16 seats. Beneath we now have supplied an inventory of all of the Chief Ministers of Puducherry.
