The Puducherry authorities has determined to increase COVID-19 evening restrictions until January 31 following the detection of two instances of Omicron within the Union Territory. The restrictions will likely be in place from 11 pm to five am.

Income Secretary Ashok Kumar in an order issued on December 30 evening stated the ‘curfew’ was deliberate earlier until January 2. “Although the variety of contemporary optimistic instances has come down there’s detection of variant of concern, Omicron within the samples from Puducherry. Accordingly, measures are put in place until mid-night of January 31,” he stated.
