Cyclone Gulab Updates 26 September Odisha, Andhra On Alert; A number of Trains Diverted Forward Of Cyclone Gulab Landfall


New Delhi: The coastal states Odisha and Andhra have braced up cyclone ‘Gulab’ which is predicted to make landfall on Sunday night between Gopalpur and Kalingapatanam in Andhra Pradesh. The deep despair mounted over the Bay of Bengal on Saturday intensified into Cyclone ‘Gulab’ following which the India Meteorological Division (IMD) issued an ‘orange’ alert for north Andhra Pradesh and adjoining south Odisha coasts. 

Cyclone Warning Division of the IMD warned that the cyclonic storm is more likely to transfer almost westwards and cross north Andhra Pradesh-south Odisha coasts between Kalingapatnam and Gopalpur. 

Heavy rainfall, gusty wind velocity reaching 70 kmph, and really tough sea situations are very more likely to stay beneath the affect of a despair over northwest Bay of Bengal and off West Bengal and Odisha coast.

The Odisha authorities has already mobilised males and equipment, and launched an evacuation drive in seven recognized districts within the southern components of the state.
