BENGALURU: A 34-year-old banana service provider was arrested on Tuesday on expenses of duping individuals by posing as a authorities official.
The accused is Uday Prabhu, resident of Mylasandra, Kengeri. Cops seized his Toyota Innova on which he had illegally fastened ‘Authorities of Karnataka’ brand. An ID card seized from him says his identify and designation are ‘Uday Prabhu, particular officer, division of personnel and administrative reforms’.
“The ID card matches with that of DPAR staffers, with dates of issuance and expiry. The again portion carries related directions like the unique card. It means the accused had entry to a real ID card,” an investigating officer stated.
Police stated they obtained concrete details about the accused, who owns a mandi in Cottonpet.
“On Tuesday, we visited his home and requested him to elucidate why he had authorities logos on his automotive’s licence plate. Prabhu stated he was a particular officer, DPAR, and produced the ID card in a jiffy. On persistent questioning, he stumbled and at last confessed.
